  • The UH Health Family Care Center, an on-campus health clinic that provides affordable, comprehensive and integrated primary care and mental health services to the 葫芦影业 and its surrounding communities, including Third Ward, East End, South Houston and neighboring areas, achieved a major milestone this week when it received its Federally Qualified Health Center, or FQHC, Look-Alike designation from the Health Resources and Services Administration.

  • What does it really take to become a doctor? It’s more than acing exams or memorizing anatomy — it’s about resilience, heart and purpose.

    That was the resounding message at Future Health Leaders, a panel event hosted by the JED Campus Initiative and 葫芦影业 Counseling and Psychological Services in partnership with Valenti Integrated, the Jack J. Valenti School of Communication’s student-run agency.

  • Beyond the Books: The Importance of Community in Medical School

    Amid the demanding schedules and academic pressures of medical school, students at the 葫芦影业 Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine are finding ways to relax, connect and support each other outside the classroom. Whether gathering for group dinners, engaging in sports or simply sharing the stresses of exams, these students are building a community that helps them navigate the rigors of their education.

    This coming May 10, the 2025 Commencement Ceremony will mark a milestone for Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine as our second class don their regalia, take the stage and receive their diplomas. The entire College is filled with pride and excitement for the Class of 2025 on this prestigious occasion.

  • Ghana Study Abroad Opportunity

    Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine in partnership with Humana Institute is planning a study abroad trip to Accra, Ghana. From 7/5/2025 to 7/13/2025, College of Medicine students will collaborate with University of Ghana Medical School (UGMS) students and faculty to provide patient care in underserved communities. This experience will foster cross-cultural medical learning, enhance clinical skills in resource-limited settings, and strengthen partnerships between Fertitta College of Medicine and UGMS. Students will work alongside local health care professionals to address community health needs while gaining valuable insights into global health challenges and solutions.

  • 2024 White Coat Ceremony

    July 27 at 10:00 A.M., the Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine hosts the 2024 White Coat Ceremony and welcomes the incoming Class of 2028 as they don their white coats, a symbol of their position as medical students. They will take the stage and pledge their oaths at the outset of their incredible journey through post graduate studies. The entire College is filled with pride and excitement for the Class of 2028 on this momentous occasion.
